In 2014 I was invited to Sápmi Pride. I was then working for Várdobáiki in Evenes, Norway, on a media project, covering the local sámi societies. Working on the Norwegian side it felt good to connect with the sámi societies on the swedish side, wich traditionally is the same societies just divided by the colonial border. So I took the camera and without any clear plans tried to document this event. Sápmi Pride, the first pride festival in Sápmi. We get to see a little of what it was, who the people where behind it and what it was about. From my point of you it came clear that Sápmi Pride contained more than the earlier Pride festivals, celebrating the free unconditional love. It also took a turn against the oppressors, weather it was powers oppressing love or powers oppressing people in general, and sámi people in particular. The filmclips is simply a short document of that time, 2014. Were where we then and what have changed until 2026?
