Oummu rââst raaj – People cross the borders

Oummu rââst raaj – People cross the borders is a joint project of Inari and Sør-Varanger municipalities, which aims to strengthen the Skolt Saami culture, language and community across borders. In addition to communal events and educational materials, the project produces a series of short films that present one Skolt Saami’s journey to their own identity at a time. The first film has no director in the conventional sense – its artistic outcome is joint handywork of the crew. The project is funded by the EU programme Interreg Aurora.
