The theme of Skábmagovat 2026 is Diverse Love (girjás ráhkisvuohta in Northern Sámi). The film program presents queer and norm-challenging stories centered on community care, solidarity, joy, and planetary well-being. The theme seeks a holistic approach to love as a healing force for the wounds from colonialism, embracing not only romantic love but also familial bonds, chosen families, community, non-human beings, and the natural world.
