VEGARD from Karasjok first became known to a broad national audience when he participated on Stjernekamp on NRK, at just 19 years old. Since then, he has established himself as a versatile artist- as a musician and actor, screenwriter, series creator, and film director.
In everything he does, he is committed to promoting diversity. With song lyrics in Northern Sámi, he conveys his reality as a young, Sámi, queer person, and through his music he challenges both macho culture and hush culture. With a powerful stage presence and a shameless message of self-acceptance, VEGARD is an artist you are forced to take a stand on.
In November 2024, VEGARD released his first single “Lohpádus,” and he is currently finalizing his debut EP Jegolaš, to be released on 30 January 2026. His pop songs, influenced by techno and club culture, have the ability to both move the listener and inspire courage and pride in being who you are. VEGARD therefore promises a stage show filled with dynamism and explosiveness- a celebration of both the queer and the Sámi.
