Luossafanas / A Salmon Boat

The long and graceful Teno salmon boat is based on the generations-long collective knowledge of the river and what it requires from the boat. The salmon boat and its shape and materials all carry along the community, a culture that uses the boat. In the documentary, Jouni Laiti crafts a traditional river boat, which becomes part of the art collection of the University of Lapland.
