A panel discussion will take place in the festival Saturday with the topic of the labels in Indigenous film and the need, attributes and possibilities for them. The discussion is a part of the project Digitaalinen Skábmagovat (the digital Skábmagovat) funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The aim is to have a low-threshold brainstorming, where ideas are sketched freely on what could work, what approaches are there now and how to utilise them.
Participants are the project manager for the Sámi Council’s project of Sámi trademarks, Reetta Tornensis, the mastermind in Indigenous film production and media arts Jason Ryle and Lindsay Monture and the festival director of ImagineNative. The host is journalist and filmmaker Aslak Paltto.
The discussion will be held on Saturday at 2 pm in Sajos, Solju and is open for everyone.
