Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) was a Danish colony for more than 300 years, and the cultural ties have historically been mediated from a Danish perspective. Samani explores Greenlandic art with an emphasis on Inuit women’s perspectives. Each of the film’s three sections is based on a work of art. Two of the artists are Inuit and the third is a Danish artist who has characterised herself as a ‘Greenlandic painter’.
